Riggers possess and develop a broad range of technical skills including: splicing; sail tuning; rigging for crane lifts; metal working, welding and eventually crane operation. They possess and develop a thorough knowledge of working loads for lines, cables and blocks; as well as the mechanical maintenance and refurbishment of common sailing equipment such as winches, furlers masts, headsail furlers and windlasses. Position Summary:

Mechanic (1 of 2):

Strouts Point Wharf Co. in South Freeport is looking for an individual to join our mechanics team. This position includes repair and service on all types of marine engines, both gasoline and diesel, with an emphasis on Honda Outboards. Stern drive experience is also a plus.

Duties include commissioning/decommissioning, troubleshooting and repair of Honda outboards, other outboard engines, water systems, inboard engines, heating/cooling systems, electrical systems and heads. Ability to research in catalogs and on-line. Familiarity with Dockmaster a plus.

General Yard Crew (2 of 2):

Strouts Point Wharf Co. in South Freeport is looking for an individual to join our general yard labor team. Some of this position’s duties include sanding and bottom painting of boats, boat detailing, shrink wrap, moving/launching boats. Applicant must be able to lift 50 lbs. and have a strong work ethic.
