Description: The On-Water Programming Supervisor is an ambassador for discovery, learning, recreation, and safety on the waterfront at Independence Seaport Museum. The On-Water Programming Supervisor primarily reports to the Assistant Director of the Workshop on the Water. The On-Water Programming Supervisor will supervise the dock staff and instruct additional staff for on-water programming, is responsible for meeting all waterfront safety expectations, following all waterfront procedures and enforcing all waterfront policies. As expected with outdoor-centric and seasonally specific positions, the On-Water Programming Supervisor should be able to work in both hot and cold weather conditions.

Qualifications:
• Experience with rowing, paddling, kayaking, or other on-water activities in a supervisory capacity required

Essential Duties:

• Hire, train, and supervise dock staff and/or programming staff during shifts and programs
• Assist with outreach efforts and represent the ISM in related collaborative groups to bring groups and visitors to the ISM docks and boat basin
• With the Education staff, co-develop lesson plans and educational activities that utilize ISM docks and boat basin
• Welcome and collaborate with visiting ships and other boats on the dock and the landing; assist with their docking and other needs
• Follow and ensure compliance with all waterfront policies, practices, and procedures in accordance with training and safety standards for visitors and staff
• Work with dock staff to teach visitors to safely operate their vessels; and properly fit them with personal floatation devices
• Respond to and document any incidents that occur during waterfront programming
• Communicate regularly with Assistant Director of Workshop on the Water and Communications staff about weather and/or safety related concerns
• Oversee and/or prepare boats for usage and end-of-day and end-of-season storage: pumped out, cleaned, and tied off properly

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Expertly troubleshoot, diagnose and repair marine engines, transmissions and drivetrains, generators, stabilizers, electrical systems and electronics and common marine mechanical systems such as potable water systems and sanitation systems.

Position Summary:

Danversport Marina is seeking a hard-working, motivated and detail oriented Marine Technician. The Marine Technician’s main responsibility is to diagnose, communicate, and repair issues related to outboard, inboard, stern-drive, diesel and boat system repair. The exact type of projects assigned to the candidate will be dependent on the candidate’s prior experience and interests.

We offer a modern, well maintained facility with state-of-the-art equipment, heated indoor workshop and personal golf cart for transport around site and to dock ramps. Danversport Marina is a full service repair shop and is a licensed dealer for Yamaha, Mercruiser, and Yanmar, just to name a few.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Work as a team player with our crew of marine service technicians
Maintain a clean work space
Assess, diagnose, and repair various issues related to boat engine and systems repair.
Maintain factory certifications as well as pursue new certifications
Occasionally travel to off-site jobs

Qualifications:
Experience working on engines and mechanical systems
A valid driver’s license
Prior Experience in the marine industry (preferred)
Factory training (preferred)

Position Title: Waterfront/Sailing Director

Position Summary:

Gather New Haven, Schooner day camp is looking for a Waterfront Director for our 2024 summer day camp season. This position requires your love of water, all things related to the Long Island Sound. A commitment to the safety of our campers and staff and most of all being part of an amazing camp staff team. This position requires you to be alert, attentive and safety being in the forefront of decisions that are made on a daily basis for our programming in the water. Experience as a Waterfront Director, supervising staff on an open water front, following best practices and protocols of an organizations waterfront is key to the success in the role. Must have knowledge and experience in sailing on open water in picos and 420's. Must be able to drive chase boats.

Must be open to working in the heat, cold, sun and rain and giving it your all.

Minimum age requirement is 20, current certifications in Lifeguard training (including first aid, CPR and AED), US Sailing level 1, waterfront lifeguard module, State of CT Personal Watercraft license. Lifeguard management experience is required. Possible recertification if needed in above certifications prior to start of camp. Work site is on Long Island Sound in New Haven, CT.

You must be available for the dates of June 16 to August 16 Monday thru Friday 8: 30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There is pre work available in June to get the sailboats ready for the season that you will be paid for. (Max 40 hours)

Position Summary:

At Martha's Vineyard Ocean Academy, our work is to get young people outside and on the water by facilitating weeklong sailing voyages aboard the topsail schooner Shenandoah. Shenandoah operates out of Vineyard Haven, MA. From this beautiful harbor, our program embarks on a series of weeklong sailing adventures with students from New England and beyond.

Voyages guides are the most important component to the success of these sailing operations. Think of this position as a modern "deck hand" job. Voyage Guides help to sail and maintain the tall ship Shenandoah, while also working as a guide/mentor to the students aboard. This is a great opportunity to learn to sail and spend the summer upon the beautiful waters of the Vineyard Sound.

Room and Food provided aboard Shenandoah. Position runs seasonally from May through October.
