Position Title: YARD TECHNICIAN
Compensation/Rate: $18-22
Location: Falmouth, ME
Position Summary:
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
Boat bottom prep to include sanding, scraping, etc. application of antifouling paint systems. Buff, compound, clean and wax topsides and decks. General boat detailing. Assist, as required, with PFG, Systems, and Rigging Departments.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain a courteous and helpful relationship with customers and members.
• Complete timecards in a legible, accurate and timely manner
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Perform all work in accordance with established quality standards and safety procedures
• Assist other departments when necessary; Perform related duties assigned or as the situation dictates per supervisor(s)
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ability to conduct quality assessment checks and evaluate the recorded performance
• Skilled at coaching new employees and training them to perform repairing duties
• Positive attitude, able to work in a fast paced environment, good communication skills
ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL FACTORS:
Work in a wide variety of environments, conditions, and/or situations, including:
o Small and/or confined spaces
o At heights of 20 feet or more
o Routinely bending, twisting, kneeling climbing and reaching for 1-12 hours per day
o Sitting, standing, and/or walking for 1-12 hours per day
o Enduring noise, fumes, dust, and inclement weather
o Must be able to lift and carry 1-50 lbs. throughout the day
• Must be able to safely wear a respirator when needed
Additional Qualifications Preferred:
• Ability to utilize laptop computers and portable diagnostic tools
• Clean driving record and valid Driver’s License required
• Any and all marine related Tech skills, boat handling and other areas of expertise
