RMK Merrill-Stevens, Florida’s Oldest Shipyard, is under major renovation requiring an Industry Experienced Marine Carpenter to inspect, repair, install, modify, rebuild, construct, and maintain woodwork and other related structures aboard luxury boats and yachts. Your work must be of the highest international standards to meet Classification Society Requirements of ABS, Lloyds, and the US Coast Guard. Our North Yard Expansion, including a new state-of-the-art 2700-ton/72 meter ship lift, opens spring 2019. Our customers and employees need the full support of a detail oriented Marine Carpenter to fabricate and fit bulkheads, ceilings, windshields, windows, furniture, cabinets, desks, trim, hand, and cap rails and related marine joinery.
As an Hourly Member of our Carpentry Department, your work with stationary, power and hand tools to cut, form and finish materials to yacht quality standards requires you to read and interpret drawings, blue prints, schematics and service order specifications. Taking responsibility, maintaining flexibility and safely performing multiple duties and tasks under stressful or hazardous conditions will lead you to success in our fast-paced environment. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operates stationary power tools, hand power tools and hand tools to cut, form and finish materials to yacht quality standards for service orders.
Performs joinery work on vessel to fabricate and fit bulkheads, ceilings, windshield, windows, furniture, cabinet, desks, trims, handrails, cap rails and any other marine related joinery work.
Overtime, nights and weekend work may be required as customer service needs fluctuate.

Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Vocational/Technical/Business School
