Job Description: MARINE BOTTOM PAINTER (LEAD)
RMK Merrill-Stevens, Florida’s Oldest Shipyard, is under major renovation requiring an Industry Experienced Marine Bottom Painter to manage a team to deliver bottom and running gear anti-fouling paint jobs. Work must be of the highest international standards to meet Classification Society Requirements of ABS, Lloyds, and the US Coast Guard. Our North Yard Expansion, including a new state-of-the-art 2700-ton/72 meter ship lift, opens spring 2019. Our customers and employees need the full support of a detail oriented Marine Bottom Painter with full working knowledge of hull and surface preparation for the application of anti-fouling paint including the treatment of zincs, trim tabs, struts, shafts, rudders and related under waterline gear.
As an hourly member of our Paint Department, your work with painting equipment used in coating applications requires you to read and interpret drawings, blue prints, schematics and service order specifications. Taking responsibility, maintaining flexibility and safely performing multiple duties and tasks under stressful or hazardous conditions will lead you to success in our fast-paced environment. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
A high school diploma/GED or technical degree/certification
Strong English/Spanish communication skills (required language: English)
