As a Technical Support Manager, you will be responsible for developing, managing and identifying market segment focused strategies and programs. In this role you will implement customer programs through their technical expertise to meet organizational objectives, increase market share and profitability of products and services.

How will you impact our organization on a daily basis?

Develop and manage market segment strategies, programs and contacts.
Act as technical consultant to ensure market segment programs, organizational marketing, field marketing and sales activities coincide.
Gather customer requirements and provide customized technical support or solutions.
Develop quotes or bids for customized or non-standard products or services.
Evaluate the customer’s existing systems to ensure successful integration of the Company’s products.
Prepare complex sales support documents such as proposals, contracts or service-level agreements.
Analyze market segment programs and increase effectiveness.
Identify new product opportunities using existing company technologies alone or in combination.
Evaluate competitive situations and recommend appropriate tactics.
Conduct market research to identify opportunities for increased market segment partnerships and sales results.
Work with Sales team to develop customer-focused programs and materials to increase “sell-through” and ROI. Target customers to provide forecasting and program development budget.
Introduce, demonstrate and promote current and new products, services and techniques.
Conduct product training programs for internal staff and customers as necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Composites Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 2 years in Advanced Composites Manufacturing and 2 years of experience with Closed Mold Manufacturing or related is required.
Ability to travel domestically up to 50%

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
Proven track record of sales success and/or technical skills preferred for this position.
Diverse knowledge in composite materials including resin systems, fiber reinforcement, enhanced bonding technologies, composite materials manufacture, composite processing methods and composite end-use areas a plus.

Experience in wooden boat restoration is not necessary, but attention to detail, mechanical ability, a willingness to learn, and staying off your phone are must-haves. We do like to joke around, have fun, and listen to good music as we are working. At the same time, we are a busy shop with a lot of work to do. We take pride in our efficiency and doing things right the first time, without wasting time. You will be expected to hustle when circumstances require it. Every season is busy, but spring and fall are hectic and you will get plenty of exercise.

Duties will include sanding, varnishing, removing and reinstalling hardware, winterizing boats, finish woodwork, engine work, various mechanical work, 12 volt electrical work, helping to launch and retrieve boats, stripping old finish off, and picking up after yourself. It is OK if you do not end up excelling in all of these duties, but you will need to excel in most of them, the most important one being picking up after yourself.

Hours are 7:30-4, M-F with a one hour lunch break, 30 minutes of which are paid.

Our Production Engineers are the foremost experts on Boston BoatWorks’ upcoming projects and new product development. They provide upstream planning and implementation assistance for our production team including the coordination of Bills of Manufacturing, shop drawings, cost analysis and estimation. The individual will work with our Manufacturing Engineers and functional managers to develop processes and equipment to streamline production while maintaining our standards for quality.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Facilitate collaboration between designers and builders to develop solutions for how products will be manufactured.

Position Summary:

The Equipment Operator will assist Boston BoatWorks’ service department in utilizing, managing the schedule, safety and maintenance of their heavy equipment including hydraulic trailers, travel lift, crane and boat stands. Occasionally, the equipment operator will assist the production team and facilities operations manager as required.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Operates hydraulic trailers and travel lift to haul and launch power and sail boats up to 70’ and 36 tons.
• Operates crane for stepping and un-stepping of masts.
• Operates forklift for various functions.
• Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on equipment and trouble shoots problems.
• Maintains awareness of and consistently practices safe work habits.
• Performs heavy lifting, climbing, and carrying during job process.
Other Responsibilities:
• Will assist the service department and occasionally the production team.
• Performs related duties assigned or as the situation dictates.
Position Requirements:
• Previous experience with hydraulic trailers, travel lift and crane required

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The boat builder is responsible for building, installing, and repairing structures, fixtures, and other items using different types of materials including wood and composite. Candidates will have experience in composite and wooden boat construction and/ or restoration.
