JOB SUMMARY
The laminator works with a crew of other laminators to build fiberglass parts of the boat that may include the deck, hull, or small parts. Using a hand lay-up process to apply the skincoat and bulkcoat laminate, core materials, and final layer of laminate, the laminator builds any fiberglass part used in the process.
Teamwork is a large factor in the success of this process. Quality standards, cost budgets, scheduling, safety, and proper process control are the responsibilities of each member of the team.
The laminator is able to perform all the basic duties of the lamination process such as defect-free fiberglass roll out, laminate sanding prep, part inspection, defect removal, and startup and shutdown duties.

Follow the Teamleader's directions in coordinating people and work.
Perform startup and shutdown tasks quickly.
Look over all gel coated parts for a thin gel coat before laminating.
Prep the laminate by sanding burrs and lumps that prevent defect-free fiberglass roll out.
Be responsible for your own work so that it meets department standards for quality, cost control, scheduling, and proper procedures.
Inspect laminates to make sure all the material has been placed in proper locations. This includes all knit materials, cores, and whaleboard.
Keep flanges trimmed so that breakout will not have to fight rough edges when demolding parts.
Follow all procedures that are put in place...
Follow all safety guidelines.
Help control consumable usage as well as raw material usage.
Keep all fiberglass off the floors and keep work area clean and organized at all times.
Keep tools and equipment (Resin Guns) clean and in proper working condition.
Be able to work overtime if asked to do so.

SKILLS

Assembly is the part of the production process that is critical to the structural integrity of the boat. This operation assembles and installs the various parts of the boat using adhesives and mechanical fasteners. Assemblers must have the ability to properly use hand tools, air tools, cordless drills, etc. A large part of this job requires precise mechanical assembly which can include building and installing consoles, windshields, console rails, T-tops, swim platforms, cushions, bimini tops, stereos and speakers, hydraulic steering, engines, etc.


Teamwork is a large factor in the success of the department. Quality standards, cost budgets, scheduling, safety and process control are the responsibilities of each member of the team.
The assembler must be able to perform all phases of cutting and assembly of the boats on assigned parts with minimal supervision. They should also be able to work on any other assembly part in the plant with only general supervision.

Cut out and assemble the boat using specified adhesives and mechanical fasteners.
Use proper assembly techniques to assure a high quality and structurally sound boat is produced.
Utilize production aides, jigs and templates to ensure all cut outs and fastener locations are repeatedly produced with high quality as designed.
Inspect your own work prior to the quality control process
Be responsible for your own work so that it meets department standards for quality and proper procedures.

Position Title: Marine Systems Technician

Job Description: We are looking to hire a Systems Technician to work in our rigging department. We are a small manufacturer building the Maritime Boats/ Maritime Skiff brand. Job entails the rigging of hardware, systems, outboards, electrical and electronics on boats ranging from 14' to 25'. Compensation is based on experience.
