The Instructor’s primary responsibility is the instruction and guidance of students within the Great Lakes Boat Building School (GLBBS) approved curriculum. This role is responsible for adhering to recognized curriculum standards, and compliance with instructional guidelines as defined by the Executive Committee or Board of Directors. Work includes course delivery administration of tests (or equivalent course criteria), and the tabulation and submission of students’ final course grades. This is a full-time 12-month salaried position. Qualifications:

High School diploma

3 + years industry relevant work experience in boat building trade specific to program (ie. restoration, finishing, wood working, marine systems, composite boat building, wooden boat building etc.)

Teaching or training experience or certification preferred.

ABYC Certification or ability to be certified within 3 years- Master Tech

120' Motor Yacht: Deckhand

Sean Kennedy is the Captain, owner, and operator of a 120 foot Wooden Motor Yacht. He is currently in search of a deckhand.

Job Description: Marine Designer/Engineer For Custom Yacht Tender Manufacturer

Novurania of America is looking for a Designer/Engineer with system design experience to design and oversee construction of custom yacht tenders that meet customer needs and regulatory specifications. Novurania is a yacht tender manufacturer located in Vero Beach, Florida. As a leading manufacturer of luxury yacht tenders, innovation is apparent in every model of our comprehensive line of boats.
We specialize in high end custom yacht tenders for the luxury yacht clientele, we also manufacture for the recreational and commercial markets.
With the growth of the business we need to find driven individuals with boat design experience. You will meet with customers and our manufacturing team to determine feasibility of the project. Once the project is approved you will be involved from the start to the delivery, updating and communicating changes to customer and manufacturing.

Primary Job Duties:

• Work closely with the sales and customers to develop new, exciting product. • Find new solutions by challenging the status quo. • Communicate your ideas clearly and sell them to other team members. • Model your ideas in Rhino to further develop your concepts. • Refine your ideas based on team feedback. • Collaborate with sales, customers, and production to maintain design intent. • Analyze proposal sketches, specifications, related data and drawings to determine vessel arrangements. • Produce preliminary computer models based on customer specifications and company data for initial design approval from manufacturing team before customer approval. • Develop computer models, design all elements including structure, system designs, auxiliary systems, and components to integrate the basic design features and the desired characteristics for a complete project. • Ensure design follows engineering principles, company quality standards, customer performance requirements, and regulatory specifications. • Evaluate design changes and release revised drawings, as needed. • Follow company procedures to properly document and notify Production of revisions. • Maintain continuous communication between Engineering and Production Supervisors, troubleshooting problems related to design. • Inspect and evaluate projects, as required. • Anticipate design data required by Production to ensure on-time execution of the Production Schedule. • Create CNC cut files.

Qualifications:


• Proficiency in the use of Rhino. Proficiency in the use of other CAD tools will be considered an asset. • Strong attention to detail, spatial acuity, and analytical skill. • Familiarity with marine design regulations (e.g. ABYC, USCG) [preferred]. • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office. • Previous experience in a product development preferred. • Skilled in sketching and concept visualization helpful. • Skilled in surface modeling a plus. • Work Hours: This position normal hours are 7:00am – 3:45pm. Novurania reserves the right to adjust shifts and times as business needs arise. • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and toxic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
