Description
Assist as instructed to complete vessel projects for on time & on budget delivery. Perform efficient and effective installations, maintenance and repair of marine systems and outboard engines. Perform non- electrical work for winterization such as shrink wrapping, bottom painting and detailing. Develop and maintain streamlined processes that ensure the highest quality of work in a lean and organized environment. Actively clean workspaces, equipment and workshop as needed to maintain a clean and professional workspace. Re-Stock unused materials and workshop supplies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Operations:
• Winterization of Vessels, Including:
o Winterize/Commission marine engines and systems
o Paint vessel bottoms/detail vessels as needed
o Prep and shrink wrap vessels for winter storage as needed
• Spec/estimate & install engine repowers.
• Perform routine and complex maintenance & repairs on outboard engines, addressing both mechanical and electrical issues.
• Conduct thorough inspections to assess the mechanical and system integrity of vessels, ensuring all systems are in proper working order.
• Provide professional advice on boat care, maintenance, and any necessary follow-up services, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Assist with loading/offloading of vessels as needed.
• Sea trial vessels as needed.
• Install, inspect, and maintain marine electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, control panels, and electronic components.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues to identify and implement effective solutions.
• Analyze existing processes to identify areas for improvement and increased efficiency
• Streamline workflow to minimize waste in time, resources, and materials
• Ensure all outfitting meets industry standards, safety regulations and customer specifications
• Conduct thorough quality control checks on completed installations and repairs
• Collaborate with other technicians, staff, and management to coordinate electrical work in alignment with overall project goals
• Understand project scope and processes required to complete project tasks
• Understand project schedule, allotted hours for tasks and delivery date
• Remove/ Replace interferences. Fit and Install new hardware
• Help develop and maintain marine systems stock, tools, etc.
• Assist supervisor with project material/ supplies specification
• Specify, organize, and maintain job materials for each project task and assignment
• Ensure a thoroughly clean area and maintain an organized and presentable workshop/ job site
• Assist with general maintenance and repair for all vessel projects as needed
• Assists Supervisor with training of employees on proper technique and best practices
• Work to achieve the highest levels of performance and productivity
• Seek continuous improvement
