Job Description: CBMM seeks an experienced wooden boat builder with strong background in management and staff training. The Shipyard Manager is responsible for the development and management of programming and exhibition functions of the Shipyard.

These directives are fulfilled through building replica Chesapeake wooden vessels, and the restoration and maintenance of CBMM’s Floating Fleet, the largest collection of historic Chesapeake Bay watercraft in the world. This work is performed in CBMM’s shipyard with full public access.
The ideal candidate will have working knowledge and interest in historic Chesapeake Bay craft, their restoration and care, the traditional skills and techniques used in their construction, and the ability to educate the Shipyard team in those skills and techniques. Candidate should also possess excellent oral communication skills necessary for interaction with Museum visitors and the general public. This is a full-time, exempt, salaried position with excellent benefits. Relocation assistance available.
