Position Title: Project Engineer
Compensation/Rate: $80,000 - $120,000
Location: West Palm Beach, FL
Position Summary:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Contribute technical vessel engineering expertise to produce the project work scope from customer requests and business specifications.
Accurately estimate the cost, quality requirements and schedule of the project.
Develop yacht repair/refit proposals and change orders that outline technical specifications, and project process guidelines.
Contribute to process safety in design and risk management when developing proposals in accordance with Rybovich standards.
Create a competitive advantage through contribution of innovative solutions while maintaining a customer focus and awareness of best industry practices for marine/ship building technology.
Effectively communicate with stakeholders including shipyard team, vessel representatives, contract personnel and with Classification Society representatives.
Travel to customer and project sites may be required.

Performance Indicators
Develop and deliver accurate work scope proposals each week, to include comprehensive technical specifications and accurate cost estimates.
Partner and collaborate with Sales Team, Project Managers and Trade Directors during development of proposals and change orders.
All technical specifications will meet classification society and quality certification inspections.
Required Skills:
Possess technical knowledge of yacht operations and shipbuilding process in order to engage with technical leaders in the industry.
Knowledge of fabrication and production processes of ship construction.
Advanced knowledge of shipbuilding, Ship systems and ship repair methodologies.
Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Knowledge of computer software applications (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Knowledge of AutoCAD, and Adobe. Manipulate, modify and change AutoCAD drawings.
Knowledge of Flag state (IMO, MARPOL, SOLAS, LY3, etc) and Classification rules and regulations (Lloyd’s, ABS, DNV, etc).
Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable.
Safety and Environmental Responsibilities
Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.
Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area.
Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.
Technical and Physical Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or foreign equivalent in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related field plus 4 years of related experience in naval architecture and design.
Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
