Position Title: Production manager for carbon composite rowing boat construction facility
Compensation/Rate: $50 per hour/commensurate with experience
Location: Bristol, RI

NEXT Boatworks LLC is on a mission to reinvent rowing. We aim to make rowing accessible to everybody by designing & building category-defying boats that are easy and fun to row.

Lean Production evangelist wanted. Must be either experienced with, or hungry to rapidly learn and implement, Lean Manufacturing/TPS (Toyota Production System) methods in a small, start-up environment. Compensation commensurate with Lean knowledge base and skillset as well as ability to create Lean culture.

Successful candidates must have experience in pre-preg carbon fiber construction and have a solid understanding with the various stages of composite construction
Lean manufacturing experience (Toyota Production systems) is a bonus, however, a willingness to rapidly learn lean manufacturing is a requirement.
Management / leadership experience is also preferred, however, candidates with excellent communication skills, an aptitude for patient leadership of a small build team, and a desire to expand their boatbuilding into a leadership role, will also be considered. Training new laminators and guiding the shop team into efficient production is a key aspect of this position.
