Position Title: Part-Time, Year-Round, Delivery Driver
Compensation/Rate: $17/hr
Location: Portland, Maine
Position Summary:
Truck Driver Crew
Purpose:
Hamilton Marine Delivery Drivers deliver customer orders and inventory to our stores along established routes across coastal Maine. The work is very physical, fast-paced, detail oriented, and requires very early morning hours. A friendly, positive attitude with strong commitments to teamwork and service are a must. CDL not required! Prior delivery driver experience is preferred! A clean driving record a must. The truck is a 26' box truck.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Load and unload trucks
Drive and deliver products to customers on established routes.
Deliver orders and stock between store locations.
Provide direct customer service to route customers including accepting returns and collecting payment as needed.
Pick up products from vendors along route as needed.
Utilizing available tools to make product handling and delivery as safe and efficient as possible (hand trucks, carts, forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.)
Required Qualifications:
Detailed Oriented.
Ability to work very early morning hours.
Age 21 and over.
Clean driving record.
Loading and unloading trucks, and direct customer interactions are common in this position as well as other general warehouse duties.
The work is fast paced and detail oriented. A friendly, positive attitude with strong commitment to teamwork and service.
Self-motivated.
Good at working with their hands.
Willingness to learn and grow with our company.
Preferred Qualifications:
Computer experience
Some High school
Working Conditions:
Work is physically strenuous. Workers are typically required to lift heavy packages, bend, stoop, utilize ladders and/or operate heavy equipment.
Truck Drivers will work on loading platforms and outdoors will be exposed to all kinds of weather and should wear protective clothing.
To reduce the risk of accidents, workers are required to follow strict safety regulations.
Ability to sit for long periods of time while driving determined by length of route and amount of product to be delivered.
