Position Summary:
Prospect Boat Yards is one of the largest Marina operating at multiple locations within Lake Hopatcong, NJ serving over 600 Customers.
We are currently looking for a Marine Mechanic with past experience to carry out technical operations for the Marina to work on pontoon boats, bowriders, runabouts, cabin cruiser boats and jet skis within lake setting.
The Marine Mechanic is responsible to improve customer satisfaction and maximize customer retention. The Marine Mechanic projects a professional company image through all types of interaction.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Repair Motorized & Electrical Equipment on Boats
• Oil Changes
• Winterization / Spring Run Up
• Determine Problems & Conduct General Routine Maintenance of Boats
• Testing Engines, Propellers, Steering & Navigational Equipment
• Diagnose Problems & Perform Services
• Listening to Customer's Description of Issue’s Clarifying Description of Problems
• Conducting Inspections
• Taking Test Drives
• Boat Detailing
• The Ability to Drive, Dock & Tow Boats Over the Road
• Maintains Awareness of Safety Issues & Reports them Immediately to Supervisor
• All aspects of Marina Maintenance & Other Duties as Needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Previous Marine Mechanic Experience Preferred
• Must Have Own Tools
• Valid Driver’s License
• Valid Boating License
• Ability to Troubleshoot, Test, Repair & Service Technical Equipment
• Excellent Customer Service Skills – Known as Someone who goes Above & Beyond
• Must have Highly Effective Communication Skills & Time Management Skills
• Must be able to Maintain a Calm, Positive Attitude During Periods of High Activity
• Ability to Manage Multiple Projects Simultaneously
• Excellent Attention to Detail
• Basic Water Safety Skills
• Must be able to Work in Extreme Weather Conditions
