Position Title: Marine Mechanic
Compensation/Rate: $20.00 -$27.00 hour
Job Description: Safe Harbor Marinas, the nation’s largest owner and operator of marinas, has an immediate opening for a full time Marine Mechanic at their Stratford Marina located in beautiful Stratford, CT.
Job Type: Full time with competitive compensation and a gracious benefits package
Job Duties:
Ability to troubleshoot and repair inboard and outboard engines.
Servicing, maintaining and repairing clients' vessels up to 80'.
Basic understanding of AC and DC electrical systems.
Job Requirements:
Customer service experience.
Ability to operate a crane and forklift preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrate ability to prioritize and work unsupervised.
Must have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn new things.
3-5 years experience preferred (will accept entry level mechanic for internal training).
ABYC and manufacturer certifications preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to ascend and descend a ladder
Must carry own tools
Capable of lifting up to 50 Ibs
Handle extensive periods of standing
Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education certificate (GED); or six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
3-5 years' experience as a is preferred.
