Position Title: Drafter
Compensation/Rate: DOE
Location: Port Townsend, WA
Position Summary:
The engineering team provides design expertise and support in a fast paced, Aluminum boat manufacturing work environment.
JOB TASKS
• Ability to use Rhino, Autocad, Solidworks and Fusion 360 to produce 2D and 3D drawings
• Assist with CnC cutfiles, machine operations and safety
• Create, modify proposal drawings, Layout dimensions, 3D modeling and Renderings
• Familiarity with welding and fabrication processes: Aluminum welding, Sheetmetal forming, Sheet metal cut with a CNC router
• Ensure non-conformance is logged throughout the build, and apply to future builds
• Evaluate and improve on shop processes & procedures with construction standards and templates
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to work up to 8 hrs per day on a computer
• Walking, kneeling, crouching or crawling for long periods in a variety of environments
• Capable of lifting up to 30 lbs without assistance
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a boat yard, which can subject workers to loud levels of noise, fumes, debris, tripping hazards and sharp metal edges. Personal protective equipment will be provided to staff, but personnel are responsible for ensuring that the equipment is properly used and for being aware of their surroundings.
