Job Description: The Automation Engineering Technician/Electrician will:
Design, specify, procure, install, and troubleshoot various components & wiring for electrical, electronic, automation, and data acquisition systems, PLCs, and electrical cabinets.
Work with project engineers and welders/fabricators/systems assembly technicians. ·
Calibrate various equipment and instrumentation such as temperature, pressure, and flow sensors that support plant processes.
Perform wiring and field installation of components and infrastructure.
Ensure that the system is designed and installed following applicable commercial/industrial (NEC) & Electrical Safety Codes (NESC).
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Associates in Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Systems, Electronics Engineering, Automation Systems, Instrumentation & Controls, (or related major) or completion of NCDOL apprenticeship for Mechatronics or related experience preferred
At least five (5) years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must have the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, etc.
Must have working knowledge/experience with commercial/industrial power systems, such as 3 phase 208VAC systems.
Must be knowledgeable of electrical safety codes.
Electrical cabinet/panel design experience preferred.
Experience with Solidworks electrical preferred.
