Position Overview
The CFF group is responsible for bringing Nirvana Upfitters designs to life. In this role as CFF associate, you will work under the CFF Lead and alongside other members of the CFF team and interact closely with the Systems Team and Project Management to execute the framing, construction, and finish work required to realize the dreams of our customers in the form of a finalized van upfit.
Applicants must have experience working with hand tools, power tools (table saw, table, drill press, etc.) and the ability to train on and use new equipment. Broad mechanical and basic electrical knowledge, great attention to detail, and a positive attitude are required. Nirvana Upfitters is an entrepreneurial organization. What we are looking for in a job candidate, for starters:
Work Monday through Thursday 7ish to 5ish, with occasional long or short days, and the occasional weekend stint and surprise day off
Precision “engineer” with great attention to detail – a great hands-on designer and builder, not someone with an advanced engineering degree (but that’s fine too)

Roles and Responsibilities:
CFF shop work-
Contribute as an independent CFF team member in the manufacture of various aspects of both custom and semi-custom van conversions
Framing, insulation, cabinetry, upholstery, trim & finish
Work in close communication with the Systems group to ensure integration of all CFF and Systems functionality within each conversion
Under direction of CFF Lead, support all shop equipment and tooling maintenance
Collaborate and work within the CFF team, learning and honing in skill sets of the job to increase team functionality and continually develop the capabilities of the CFF group and yourself.
Create Templates to improve manufacturing
Collaborate with management and team members on occasional design modifications, improvements and problem-solving
Communicate with CFF Lead to provide and clear understanding of progress within each project
Advise CFF Lead of any problems, delays, or otherwise
Perform detailed cleaning of exterior of vehicles including washing, windows, tires, wheels, etc.
Perform detail cleaning of interior of vehicles including kitchen unit, wall cabinets, stove, sink, garage, passenger areas and all other interior compartments
Work alongside team members in weekly Full Shop cleaning
Working with Project Management
Communicate with PM when needed to provide and progress updates on projects
Advise PM of any problems, delays, or otherwise
Attend and contribute to Biweekly Project Update meetings
Attend Project Kick-off meetings to understand and anticipate upcoming work
Experience profile of the competitive candidate:
3+ Years of related experience including 1+ year framing, and 1+ years of Cabinetry and finish woodworking experience.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and in teams
Experience reading, creating and revising shop drawings and 2D design drawings
Experience templating, measuring and fitting standard and custom components to existing manufactured products (van walls, ceilings, floors, doors, windows, seats, etc.)
Comfortable designing with and coordinating manufactured products (cabinet hardware, appliances, electrical equipment, etc.)
Experience fabricating with wood and metal components (cabinets, frames, etc)
Experience installing finished custom and off-the-shelf components per design drawings and documentation
Knowledge of finishing Techniques with paint, polyurethane, etc (spray, brush, wipe-on)
Experience managing the work of technicians and apprentice builders
Experience with CNC
Recommended Skills
2D drafting and documentation
Spreadsheets and design calculations
Knowledge of use, safety and maintenance of power and hand tools for woodworking (table saw, miter saw, circular saw, jigsaw, router, etc.)
Knowledge of use, safety and maintenance of power and hand tools for metalworking (angle grinder, bench grinder, horizontal bandsaw, etc) (welding knowledge a bonus)
Knowledge of and experience working with standard and premium building materials and finishes (plywood, dimensional lumber, aluminum, steel sections, high-pressure laminate, vinyl, tile, etc)
Understanding and comfort with material properties, fastening methods, failure mode, and structural stresses / loads
Basic knowledge of electrical (12V, 110V)
Basic knowledge of automotive systems
Knowledge of basic upholstery techniques
