Position Title: Yacht Technician

Compensation/Rate: $21.00 Hr.

Job Description: Hiring candidates with yacht repair and/or shipyard experience to do yacht and ship repair work in Charleston, SC.

Only candidates with verifiable experience in boat, yacht, and shipyard repairs and/or tug and barge repair work will be considered. Compensation is hourly and includes benefits (paid sick days, paid vacation, paid holidays, health insurance, dental insurance, etc.).

Marine Systems Instructor at The Landing School

Position: This is a full-time, permanent position under the direct supervision of the Dean of Education, hired by the President of the School.

 

Objective: The Marine Systems program teaches the skills and knowledge necessary to install, maintain and repair today’s increasingly complex boat systems using established industry standards. The curriculum also serves as an effective preparation for those students seeking American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) marine systems certification.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:  In fulfillment of the objectives, the  Marine Systems Instructor will:

  • Continue to develop and improve the curriculum and all teaching materials

  • Work directly with students, with primary  responsibility for lectures, demonstrations, bench work, practice applications, and yacht quality installations and repairs of marine systems in customer boats

  • Assist students in learning individually, in small groups and as a class through clear communication; patient, understanding, approach; thorough and professional knowledge; mature leadership; and positive, honest academic advice

  • Evaluate student learning through questioning, homework, practical and theoretical testing, and certifying exams

  • Share in the administrative tasks of the development and successful operation of the program, as assigned by the Dean of Education

  • Demonstrate, teach, and enforce shop safety requirements and procedures

  • Continue to develop skills and knowledge pertinent to teaching and current marine industry practices

  • Oversee and manage the activities of the Marine Systems Program Assistant

  • Work cooperatively and professionally with the Dean of Education, staff, and students of the School at all times

 

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or higher

  • Minimum of four years working in industry, in a boatyard setting, involved in all aspects of yacht service and repair

  • Practical experience in the installation and maintenance of complex marine systems including: engines and propulsion, AC and DC marine electrical systems, marine plumbing systems, fiberglass yacht structural repair

  • Previous teaching experience a plus

  • ABYC Certified Technician a strong plus

Sailing Instructor at Kennebunk River Club

Job Description: Sailing Coach:
Runs June 26 - Aug 24 Hours - morning 8:30 -12:30, afternoon 2:00 - 4:30 possible
Pay rate - DOE Uniforms provided


The Kennebunk River Club is looking for sailing instructors to work with our new sailing program. We have new Optis and Sailcubes, Lazers and a Rhodes 19. Our program will work with beginners up to advanced sailors. There will be afternoon classes for all levels as well. In addition, we also teach kayaking and paddle boarding. This is a fun job located at the mouth of the Kennebunk River. First aid and CPR preferred. Please send a sailing resume and one reference letter to us. We look forward to hearing from you.
